Purpose & Objective To support aspiring environmental safety and health professionals who face significant financial barriers due to unforeseen personal or family hardships. We believe financial distress should not prevent dedicated individuals from pursuing critical occupational certifications.

Core Qualification Criteria

​

• Demonstrated financial hardship resulting directly from a recent family tragedy, loss of primary household income, or severe economic adversity.

• Explicit proof of financial need and documentation detailing the precipitating hardship event.

• Commitment to completing the registered training program (e.g., Asbestos Abatement, Lead Safe Renovator, or HAZWOPER) and entering the environmental workforce.​

"SWC Institute is proud to offer tuition assistance for candidates whose pursuit of professional certification has been severely disrupted by acute financial distress. Scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of demonstrated financial hardship resulting from a recent family tragedy, sudden economic adversity, or catastrophic household loss. Applicants must submit a formal hardship statement detailing the specific circumstances of their financial situation, accompanied by supporting documentation (such as recent financial statements, documentation of job loss, or records related to the family emergency). Selection prioritizes candidates who demonstrate both an urgent financial need and a clear commitment to building a career in environmental health and safety."
